Bliss, a new club on Griffin Street downtown, officially opens its doors tonight. I haven't heard a thing about the place so I have no idea what it's all about. (Besides the fact that blonde women seem to like it.)
Shrouded in a miiieu of black curtains, gold walls, mirrors, chrome decor, two island bars, posh voluminous seating, a state of the art luminous dance area, and elevated VIP bottle service options throughout the venue, attain Bliss the ideal nightlife getaway.
Relish music of some of Texas' notorious DJs exploiting a mod sound system with a progressive mix of: mash-ups, Top 40, hip-hop, electro, 80's and house.
Sounds like someone went a little crazy with the thesaurus, but I'm intrigued. Might try to check it out tonight, if the skies don't start spitting hail.
Decorazon Gallery in the Bishop Arts District is hosting what looks like a fun art/fashion show tonight to coincide with the Arts District's First Thursday events. Elisa Jimenez, a graduate of Booker T. Washington in Dallas and recent contestant on Project Runway, will exhibit her art and clothing, which a press release said is "available to try on, reveal, and become."
This just in: Good Records is celebrating its recent 8th birthday on Sunday, April 19, to coincide with National Record Store Day. There'll be food, drinks and lots of live music. The band schedule is after the jump. I'll be there, handing out tickets to our Big Thing show, which'll take place four days later.
The celeb DJ-to-the-stars -- who plays locally here at Ghostbar around three times a year -- gave a really honest, compelling interview to Glamour magazine recently, talking about his past drug use and weight problems. It's really mezmerizing stuff if you've got five minutes. And no, he doesn't mention Mandy or Nicole.
