Best spots to celebrate Cinco de Mayo?

I know Cinco de Mayo isn't as big as St. Patrick's Day here (and that's a shame, because they have a lot in common, i.e., partying for a reason that no one really understands), but does anyone know of any good spots to celebrate?

I got an email from Mattito's that mentioned drink specials and a mechanical bull named Tequila. Also heard that Urban Taco is having a mariachi band and a DJ, but that's on May 3.

If you know of anywhere with good margs (rocks, not frozen) and a lively patio, let me know. I might put together my own little Cinco de Mayo pub -- cantina? -- crawl. With a taxi driver, of course.

Might try Cyclone Anaya's, which I just read about on Gay List Daily. (You should subscribe if you don't already.) They make the place sound really good.

More weekend karaoke spots

The answers keep rolling in....

Hello Guys, As I was reading your column last week, I notice it said something about Karaoke on the weekends, and no one has it! Well...We have Karaoke on Tues/Thur/Sat/Sun. Write about us and tell them come come on down! Check out our website www.buddiesii.com for information. I love your column and read it all the time. Buddies has even been mentioned before, Thanks!

The column he's referencing above is Orientations.

And from Beverly Delgado at The Quarter in Addison:

We do karaoke on Saturday nights 9pm. Our host is Chris with Addictive Entertainment, and we have a blast. Please let your readers know, and you come by and enjoy the evening with us. We have great food and drinks AND A GREAT PATIO !!

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

My first official summer jam

Was perusing Central Booking's site recently and saw they had a new mixtape up (or at least one I hadn't ever noticed) -- Prince Klassen's Chopped and Blogged.

You must go download this. The bass is heavy, and the beats are head-bobbing, and it's screaming out to be bumped in a car. And it's clever. Listening to Sinden & Count of Monte Cristal's "Beeper" on slow-speed is a whole new experience -- picture a drunk person drawling, "Hit me on my beeper" over and over.

Plus I think he threw some Missy Elliot in there. I don't have a track list so I don't know for sure. Anyway, it's totally worth a listen, so go get it while it's still up.
