Last night: Cheaters at City Tavern

So last night around 10 p.m., I was innocently having a $2 Miller Light draft on the patio at City Tavern, when suddenly this group in black clothes comes scurrying up to the curb. One dude carries a boom and a few others have cameras.

The girl sitting next to us suddenly stands up and hits the guy she's with.

"Who the [expletive] is that?" she yells. Her comments are directed at a long-haired girl in glasses, standing next to the cameramen. This girl, the hitter, is wearing a short blue dress and a string-bikini top underneath. (Yeah, I didn't get it either.)

"CHEATERS!!!" someone yells.

In a matter of seconds, everyone inside City Tavern empties out onto the sidewalk to watch the action. I catch a glimpse of Joey Greco, who has a head of snow-white hair now. (He didn't always, am I right?) People whip out their cell phones and try to get a picture as the group hurries up Main Street, away from City Tavern, leaving their drinks on the table.

"I love you Joey!" a bar patron in a goatee shouts after them. "Joey, I love you! Joey, you're a Dallas phenomenon!"

All I could see was commotion, but apparently a ring was thrown on the ground. A woman brought it back to the bar, after the Cheaters crew had left the area.

"This is the ring," she said, holding it up. We all stared. The ring was then passed around.

"What a piece of crackerjack [expletive]," another woman said. We all laughed.

I personally think the show is rigged. There was something about that couple that didn't seem right, and they insisted on sitting outside on the patio, at the table next to ours. Maybe they just wanted to enjoy the nice weather... or maybe they wanted to be front-and-center for when CHEATERS showed up.

Comments

Yeah, that was a crazy evening! I was playing drums while glancing outside of the window and saw a mob of people with cameras and lights. Then, I see a guy that looks very familiar (Joey Greco). I quickly went down the list of people I know in my head and realized, "Its the guy from Cheaters!". At that point Taylor Davis (Singer) yells on the Microphone, "Its Cheaters outside!!!" and we immediately stopped playing to check it out.

Man, that guy took a beating from both women. His tolerance for pain was amazing. I was worried the guy was going to retaliate. It definitely seemed as if he wanted to.

Needless to say it was the highlight of my evening.
