Last night: Godspeed at House of Blues

Godspeed at House of Blues Dallas

I wrote a little bit last week about Godspeed, the new Monday night party at HOB. (It's an import from HOB's Vegas location.) Basically, they open up the members-only Foundation Room for one night only, and they've got DJs and drinks.

Got a preview of the place last night, and it's actually really cool. The entrance -- a red-draped area off to the side of the main building -- feels hidden and secret.

You take an elevator to the second floor and the doors open up to a dark, South Asian-themed lounge. Tapestries and framed Indian art cover the walls. Persian-style rugs cover the floor. Instead of tables, there are couches and overstuffed chairs. (No pillows on the floor. Too nice for that.)

They've got two rooms and rotating DJs from week to week. We scored one of the mini cabanas off the room to the left, and it was a perfect place to spend the night.

Doors are at 10 p.m. every Monday, and it isn't necessary to call ahead and get on the list. (Unless you want bottle service, which appears to be available.) It's worth checking out if you don't mind being a wee bit groggy at work the next morning.
